Getting to know each other
We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time often isn't any easier! It helps to know what to expect--whether you're vacationing in beautiful Morro Bay, just here for a visit, or if you're new to church. No matter what, we want to help make your first experience at Shoreline Calvary a great one!
TIMES
Shoreline Calvary meets every Sunday and offers identical services inside and outside. Our service is also live-streamed at 9:00 am and available on demand after 10:30 am
- Sundays at 9:00 & 10:30 am
LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Shoreline Calvary is located at the intersection of Beach Street and Monterey Avenue in Morro Bay. We are in the Bell Tower Building of the former Morro Elementary School. There is parking for visitors in a small lot at Beach & Monterey. If that lot is full, continue left around the building to additional parking. Here's a map. We are only blocks from both downtown Morro Bay and the waterfront.
What can I expect?
How long?
In total, a Shoreline Calvary service is about 60 minutes in length. We begin with music (feel free to sit, stand, or lift up your hands--we just ask that you refrain from being a distraction to those around you.) After announcements and missions prayer, we transition to a time of Bible teaching from a pastor or guest speaker. (Currently, our verse-by-verse study is teaching through James.) We share communion every week and end our time together with an additional song.
SOME THINGS TO KNOW:
You can get a cup of coffee or tea in the Coffee House across the hallway from the Sanctuary. It's also a great place to meet some Shoreliners and get information about our church.
If you're new to "church," you may have questions--and we'd love to help you find the answers! Find one of our ushers in the hallway. They'll be glad to help you. They wear a name tag on a lanyard and are ready to assist. We hope and pray that the Lord will bless you as you experience the love of Jesus at Shoreline.
What's the atmosphere like at SHORELINE calvary?
Sundays at Shoreline Calvary are friendly, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.
As for our building, we meet in a former 1930's-era elementary school. It's old, nostalgic, and a little quirky--but we call it home and hope you will too!
What about my kids?
We believe that children should have a blast at church every single week, and at Shoreline Kids, we make this a priority. We are here to know, grow and show the love of Jesus to our kids. Another priority is your children’s safety - all helpers are known and screened before serving with children.
Shoreline Kids meet during the 10:30 am service. Check-in is in the hallway.
We look forward to seeing our Shoreline Kids. They are such a beautiful part of the body of Christ.
Have a Middle Schooler? Our 6-8th graders are meeting during the 10:30 am service. It's a time of games, prayer and Bible study.
