We are told to never stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to help each other and carry each other's troubles. (Galatians 6:2).

We are told how to handle the stuff life is made of - 'Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.' James 5:13-16 

As we seek to learn from the early church in  Acts 2, we see that prayer is a significant portion of doing life together as we all follow Jesus.
